Frequently Asked Questions:
What is a Small Group?
Small Groups are made up of people who want to connect with others and grow spiritually. They are gatherings of people, either by age group, gender, or location who are committing to live life to the fullest with each other. Usually they meet in a host's home on a regular schedule for fellowship, Bible study, and caring support.
Wouldn’t it be great if everybody in our church was connected and growing in Christ together?
Imagine the growth we would see:
- Growth in making God the center of our lives
- growth in reaching out to our neighbors, our community and the world
- growth towards developing authentic relationships
- growth in the number of people serving the Lord
All this could result in phenomenal life change, making us all stronger in our walk with Christ.
Are all Small Groups the same?
No! We have all kinds of groups because we have all kinds of people. Our neighborhood groups look like your neighborhood. We have groups based upon life stage or special interests. We have groups for couples, empty nesters, families, singles, just men and just women. There are workplace groups that meet in office buildings or restaurants at lunch throughout the area. You are sure to find a group for you.
Why should I join a Small Group?
When we placed our faith in Christ we also committed to connecting with other believers to share life with them. The Bible commands us to love one another, to bear one another’s burdens, to pray diligently for one another, and to help meet each other’s needs. We cannot do this effectively unless we are connected to each other. By joining a Small Group, you:
- will understand the Bible better (there's nothing like the chance to ask questions)
- you will feel like you're part of God's family (and not just a face in the crowd)
- will have prayer become more meaningful for you (your friends will be praying for/with you)
- will better handle life difficulties and pressures (with people who might have the same experience).
How often does a Small Group meet?
Groups meet on a predictable day and time, usually twice a month, but sometimes once a week
